Gozie Udemezue is the executive director of legal consultancy services at Konz Consulting Ltd with offices in Abuja and Enugu and practices law with in Enugu. A consultant with the Center on Housing Rights & Evictions IN Geneva; the Huairou Commission, New York; and the UNDP-funded Compensations for Contributions Initiative for Home Based Care Givers, Gozie is an alumna of the US State Department International Visitors Leadership Program on Grassroots Activism. She is a Fellow of the third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-West Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Her NGO work in Nigeria spans the generations. In 2006, she founded the Leadership Club for Girls with the sole aim of reaching out to young girls between 8 and 21 in rural communities to provide mentoring, internship opportunities, scholarships, and training in leadership, computer skills and health and hygiene. In 2008, she founded the Healing Hearts Widows Foundation to reach out to widows, who face financial, social, and cultural difficulties. Often accused of being responsible for the deaths of their husbands, they received free medical and legal aid, and spiritual counseling from Healing Hearts Widows Foundation.
